Hudson Hall

Website Design, Coding and Programming

From mid 2019 through early 2020, we worked closely with Hudson Hall to create a brand new website, fulfilling their long wish list that grew over years of dealing with an increasingly antiquated website. Hudson Hall is proud of the many events they plan and host at their historic building (New York State’s oldest surviving theater) on Warren Street so we knew we had to carefully plan and design an appropriate solution that would not only robust, but would also be visually attractive, easy to navigate, and celebratory–from finding events, to buying tickets to simply wanting to browse and learn more about this wonderful organization.

Our solution was to create a color-coded grid system that can be easily updated by Hudson Hall’s staff. Each event’s category is visually, yet subtly apparent by the 1 pixel boxed frame around it. On the full grid of events the result is a festive yet easy-to-read visual compendium of upcoming events.

The Hudson Hall website is built on a customized WordPress CMS (content management system) and was coded and programmed by our partners, WPHelp.co.

Unfortunately as we were finishing the website and getting ready to make it live, COVID-19 struck. The website went live with far fewer events than originally expected, but nonetheless it’s live and ready. Like many of us, Hudson Hall’s team is raring to go as soon as it’s healthy to have public events again, and we are certain the website will serve them well for years to come.
